Most of the people who want to write a novel start on the characters. This is very important because usually readers keep on reading if they like the characters in the story. Develop these characters and let the readers know how these characters changes as the story develops. You need to develop every character you have in the novel. Who are they? What do they do? How do they affect your protagonists life?
In writing a novel it is important to expand your characters, giving details and sub stories to them. By giving details to your characters you creating sub stories in your novel. Do not forget the secondary characters because they are important too.
Create a plot. A good novel usually has a conflict and resolution in the plot. Look at the big picture on how you want the story to begin and to end.
Then, check your work. Check for all spelling and grammatical errors. Have the time to read it and ask someone to read it too.
